exness warns 'professional fraudsters pretending to be our representatives'
In an email to all its clients, the global brokerage company Exness warned against some professional scammers impersonating the broker and communicating with clients as representatives of the company and requesting login details.
Exness says, “In light of the rapid increase in fraud since the outbreak of the coronavirus, we have learned that professional fraudsters posing as representatives of Exness have attempted to contact our clients, requesting account details such as login and password in order to access personal data and funds. It is absolutely essential that you do not respond to such requests, as Exness will never reach customers via text message, email or social media requesting such information. Since these scammers are professionals, they can be very convincing, using the Exness brand to appear legitimate. If you suspect that a scammer has contacted you, you can always report it to our support team.”
What else can you do to avoid becoming a victim of such scams?
It is important not to respond to any requests for personal security or account information. Texts, emails, or social media messages can look like they're coming from Exness.
If you receive an unexpected message from exness, you can use these tips to determine if it is legitimate or not:
- You will never send exness in a text message, email or social media
- Claiming to have detected suspicious activity on your account.
- They send you a link to a website and ask you to provide sensitive information (such as your account or trading password).
- If someone claiming to be from Exness contacts you using the information above, determine the legitimacy of the message. If the message is scam, block the number or email address and delete the message.
- If you receive an unexpected call from someone claiming to work for Exness and they ask you to provide personal and sensitive information or ask you to click on a link in a text message, hang up the phone and block the number.
- If you are still not sure if the message is legitimate, talk to my exness support team from here.
- If you believe you have already shared sensitive information, such as your account or trading password, please change that password immediately.
